Vita can be used as a PS3 controller with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Capcom has said Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 on PS3 will share connectivity with Vita, allowing you to use the handheld as a controller for the TV version.

The firm refers to this functionality as “Ultimate Controller.” Pretty nifty.
Also, the Vita version will allow for match playback, show the button presses you made, and surround your characters with hit boxes. Players can also upload their fight videos, as well download fights posted by others.
The game’s manual will be released digitally, meaning the package will be devoid of paper instructions.
Capcom plans to release a free DLC update for the PS3 version of the game on December 19, called Heroes and Heralds.
More information is available on Andriasang.

I hope that this is a feature that gets utilized more often with the forthcoming Playstation Vita and future PS3 titles. Because it seems like it could add more multimedia functionality to both devices (also it’d save a little time of having to switch between inputs). It’d also help to take a little wind out of Nintendo’s sail’s for the Wii U (if there’s even any there to begin with).

Greattt!! i too want to see this feature utilized across the board, but seeing as this is an announcement it obviously has to be implemented on the developer side, there isn’t a way Sony could do it through firmware which is a little disappointing.
It would be great though, carrying a vita round anyway, go to a friends house wanna play together and i have a controller allready with me?
Finger crossed a lot of devs take up this opportunity.
Vita is making Wiiu look even more Dead on arrival every day

@3 Yes! Because that’s all the Vita is – just a controller! Aha!

Pretty much been dreaming about this kind of connectivity and crossover for most of my gaming life. At the ripe old age of 34 it has finally become real. Exciting times ahead I think.

One word: Why?
I mean the WiiU controler ideas make sense. The controler not only controls your game, but is designed to allow the player to interact with the game on a level that goes beyond simple char control inputs. Does the Vitaa allow that? And even if it did, how many devs are going to implement it? How many gamers are going to own both a Vita and a PS3? …And be interested in playing such games? Is there really a marketable feature here… for Sony?
So far all I see is an expensive controler that allows for the same function as a normal controler. Does it enhance the UMvC3? I just don’t get it.
So your competitor does one thing, it doesn’t mean that you need to do the same thing. Infact, unless your going to offer the exact same feature sets and can offer them cheaper/better, you prolly shouldn’t even try it at all.

The same thing was said to the Ds, 3Ds and Wii, and here we are; many gamers and critics dismiss touch Screen, and dual screen, and now it is standard on handled gaming, everybody dismiss the motion control, and now is more relevant than before all manufactures have this option this gen, and in next gen for sure,Therefore it is already to soon to dismiss again the Wii U, well scratch that go ahead dismiss it already so the Wii U end up having the same results as those before mentioned consoles.
