Miyamoto's new projects to be "different", impossible on smartphones

Although reports of his retirement were false, Shigeru Miyamoto does seem to be working on new projects.

"Nothing has changed, and nothing will be changed in the near future as to my role inside of the company," Miyamoto told the San Francisco Chronicle.

He did admit that part of the report is accurate - he is focusing on something new and different at Nintendo.

"Until the time that we are ready to commercialise, it's not something we can disclose," he said.

The famed creative did drop one small hint, though:

"What we really have to do is try to be different. We are trying to create something that can never be reproduced on the smart phone," he said.

Thanks, GoNintendo.
