After taking a couple of weeks off, and today jumping back in to play the expansion, I can tell we have reached that point where the game is no longer much fun. The game is the same, but the players have gotten so good, that I am just fodder at the bottom of the scoreboard. With hardwork and lots of practice I may be able to climb upto mid range, maybe. But at this point, the magic feels gone. My experience this am left me feeling angry, frustraited, and just plan old.

Come join the CoD massive OG! Every game is different and accommodates all skill levels. Getting slaughtered? Just quit out and in 30 seconds you’ll be in another game ;-)

Good clean mindless fun, or slow paced tactical play, both styles are effective and no one gun beats all.

Theirs a reason so many people treat it as their go to gun game. It really does offer something for everyone… Well except vehicles :-D

But the one thing I do as well as anyone else is drive a Tank, and hunt Tanks as well. Other then that, I might as well be playing on a 13inch B&W TV, located 20ft behind me – it would make no noticable difference!

My problem, really, is just that I am getting older and at this point my reaction timing and twitch skills just aren’t there.

Support class, with Recon drone killstreak. Once you get enough points for that, find a nice spot and send up the drone. Then patrol the map tagging targets for your team mates.

Tbh if your twitch skills are lacking, the smaller maps and clearer lines of fire in CoD maps will suit you even more. No-one says you have to run around like a loon. As I said slow, careful players, using cover are just as successful.

    C’mon OG… Join us… Mwahahahaha :-D

@6, Yep it’s a low brow, repetitive, unimaginative, grind fest that only appeals to the lowest common denominator… And I love it :-P

@DSB, Y’see mate you just don’t get it do you? If everyone could easily get a game of BF3, it might get popular *shudder* and we all know good games shouldn’t be popular. I mean Lady Ga Ga is popular to millions, but that doesn’t make her any good ;-)

Sorry OM, I just can’t do COD.

Last night I had another few rounds in BF3, only killed 2 people in one round, ended up fourth on my team on the scoreboard. COD is too much about K/D. I enjoy feeling like there is more to do.

If I am in the mood for a COD style experience, I will play Halo. The reason is that in Halo, I can play 4players on one system(and still play online). I can also play on player created stages(forge). And I can play using custom made game peramiters(with sliders and rule changes). It is just that I don’t really enjoy those types of arcade shooting experiences.

Too much emphises is placed on how many kills you get. It is just too twitch for an old guy like me. The layers and depth of strategy just isn’t there. I have a saying I like to use, tretchury and descitte will over come youth and ability any day! If I am droped into a bowl with a gun, I will get killed 10 out of 10 times. Some signing 12 yr old will “Pwn my @$$!” However, if I can have the chance to out think that kid … say with C4, AT-Mines, or Claymores I can even the playing field. or if I can simply follow my squad around from objective to objective and healing and revive them…now I can contribute and score solid points. Not to even mention the things I can do in a tank with even decent co-pilot!

Now I am nothing special in BF, really once in awhile I get a good round, mostly I strive for mid scoreboard. But I can contribute to my team, and that helps us win. Thats one of the biggest reasons I play BF over other OMP FPS games. Otherwise I am just padding some one elses stats.

I think the age is getting to you OG. I use the same tactics and methods I use in CoD for BF3, mostly relying on kills and caps for points, and it’s earned me a few MVP ribbons so far.

I don’t see any difference except in scale. BF3 has the greater strategy element, CoD is distilled tactics and reflex.

I had my 1st run at Karkand last night, it was pretty sweet.

I had the problem with Origin DSB mentioned, and it would’ve been around the same time as his comment, but it cleared up within about 10 mins.

We had a pretty awesome round where we recovered from a 2:1 ticket deficit on Karkand Conquest Assault. We had noobs constantly running our vehicles into death for the 1st half of the round, and that’s what put us in the hole, I went 1-9 during that crappy part of the match, but once I got in the drivers seat of the LAV and my buddy got the Abrahms it was all-change, finished up 14-10 with 11 tickets to spare.

Only really got a good look at Karkand and Wake Island last night, like 2 mins of Gulf of Oman, tonight I shall endeavour to play the others.
