Microsoft is hosting a free Xbox Live Gold weekend, starting today. This means those who are Silver members will be able to jump online and play with friends, watch LoveFilm, play around with video Kinect, and other nifty new features recently implemented. According to CVG, Zune Video also has some nice deals and free content planned for the weekend, one example being 40% off select movie titles like The Hangover, The Bourne Identity and The Green Lantern. Those who log in will also get the chance to win a Xbox Christmas entertainment package which contains a Samsung TV, Xbox 360 Kinect bundle, 8,000 Microsoft Points and other niceties.

See.. this is what I mean. Now, don’t get me wrong, I own a Xbox 360, but.. I also own a PS3, and lately almost all the games I buy that I can buy on both systems, I go to the PS3 automatically.. Why? Because on the PS3 networking is free. Not silver, gold, platinum, latinum or whatever you wanna call it. Free. How it’s supposed to be. Whatever…
