OnLive Android, iOS apps out now - stream L.A. Noire right to your tablet

Streaming games service OnLive has expanded its hardware horizons to support mobile devices, complete with a wireless controller and custom touchscreen controls.

The free, tablet-friendly app should begin appearing on the App Store and Marketplace around the world today. Any game you've already purchased on your OnLive account - or which is available through the all-you-can-eat plan, if that's your preference - can be played directly on your tablet using the app. All the usual OnLive advantages are included - cloud saves, spectating, social features and downloading the app scores you a free copy of Lego Batman, too.

OnLive is offering two control options for the app. 25 games have been rejigged by developers to support touch controls, and can be identified by a special logo when browsing the catalogue. Otherwise, you can grab a wireless controller from the company for £39.99/$49.99.

Rockstar has jumped on board the new app, and a special version of L.A. Noire, optimised for touch controls, will be available to rent or buy by the end of the week.

Supported devices include but are not limited to: iPad 2, HTC Flyer, HTC Jetstream, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom and Kindle Fire. In the US, the app is compatible with 4G network connections, but in the UK you'll need to be hooked up to WiFi. OnLive recommends a minimum connection speed of 2 megabits per second, but promises the service will work with speeds as low as 1 megabit per second.

Thanks, Eurogamer, VentureBeat.
