Frozenbyte: Trine 2 to get “substantial DLC” next year

"Substantial" downloadable content for Trine 2 will arrive next year, developer Frozenbyte has told VG247.

Frozenbyte marketing manager Mikael Haveri promised content would last "something along the lines of half the length" of the game itself.

"We can promise around four hours with the DLC," he said, speaking to Patrick Garratt this morning as part of a Finnish media trip.

But that's not all, sports fans. Haveri added the studio was looking to include new modes for the PC version. One example he gave was a mode called Last Wizard Standing, although no additional details were given.

If the modes are successful, they'll eventually come to the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade versions of the game.

Trine 2 launches on PC today, with it coming to PSN on December 20 and XBLA on December 21. The original's sold 1.1 million units as of 2009.
