UK shops are reporting 3DS sales are surging, and High Street sources have told MCV the Metallic Red edition is selling out fast. Other colors are in short supply as well, and the popularity of the handhled this holiday season is being attributed to Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. "We have high expectations for the final few weeks before Christmas," said GAME Group's category manager for Nintendo Iain Johnson.
