Sledgehammer recruiting for next Call of Duty game

Inevitably, Activision already has a new Call of Duty game on the cards - and Sledgehammer is on board.

Although the job listing cagily refers to "an unannounced high-end console title", it also mentions that the ad is seeking new talent for Sledgehammer's "Call of Duty development team".

The job is focused on finding an engineer to take Call of Duty's "online experience to a new level", and create "Multiplayer game modes and online community features".

It's worth remembering that Sledgehammer had a third-person Call of Duty game in the works before jumping ship to assist with Modern Warfare 3.

The last few Call of Duty releases have seen Activision alternate between two studios, but for Modern Warfare 3, both Sledgehammer and Raven were brought on to assist Infinity Ward. The series is considered an annual release event, having set three successive records for biggest entertainment launch.
