EverQuest admins issue final warning to cheaters

Tuesday, 6th December 2011 02:05 GMT By Brenna Hillier

A post on the Sony Online Entertainment forums has warned players of an imminent crackdown on those utilising exploits in the nearly 12 year old MMORPG, Everquest. The teams has “quietly invested significant behind the scenes effort” and advises cheaters to “take heed and reform. There will be no second chances.”

Thanks, Blue.

I wish more developers would be harder on cheaters.

You don’t have to ruin the game that people paid for, but in terms of a competitive FPS, you might create a limited number of servers that are solely for cheaters.

Ban them from everything else, for an extremely long time, and let them play with people who are as much scum as they are.

Ultimately cheaters lessen the value of everybody elses games, I don’t see why you should be lenient if you can prove it. Then again, most anti-cheating measures are obviously inadequate.
