Maybe I’m just missing it, but I don’t see it on the Steam Top 100 which means that there are likely less than 400 people currently playing it on Steam.

It’s a huge shame. I had Brink pegged as my top game of the year, but it just isn’t very good.

Where did things go wrong Splash Damage?

@1, I went to play it after the dlc came out and there was 1 full-ish server (so, like 12-16 people) and that was fucking it.

I feel utterly utterly robbed by pre-ordering this game. It was in a barely Alpha state when it came out and by the time they patched it to Beta status the player base was gone. If this is them just drumming up these features then this is when the game should have come out, not 6 months ago (or was it longer than that now?)

I might fire it up tomorrow to see if the free duration drums up some people to actually play with…

I get the anger, but ultimately that’s the risk you take whenever you preorder. I guess it’s really always a risk when you pay for your games. It’s not like reviewers can actually be relied upon.

Personally I refuse to pirate, but I still end up being too curious not to try some of them, so ultimately paying for the occasional disappointment is just a risk I accept.

I have no desire to keep RAGE in my games list, but ultimately it’ll serve as a reminder :P

I just think it’s crazy that Splash Damage can go from great games like Enemy Territory over Quake Wars and into crash and burn mediocrity with Brink.

It was a great idea, but ultimately it’s barely half the game that Quake Wars was.
