3DS firmware update delayed into December
Nintendo of Japan, via Andriasang, has announced a delay to the promised November 3DS firmware update. The system update is now expected on December 8, and will allow for 3D movie capture, new Mii Plaza features, and the ability to transfer data between 3DS units.

Battlefield 3 ban stings Iranian pirates
The Daily Star reports Iran has instituted a ban on the sale of Battlefield 3 over controversial content set in capital city Iran. EA is actually quite pleased by this turn of events.
“In that Battlefield 3 is not available for purchase in Iran, we can only hope the ban will help prevent pirated copies reaching consumers there,” the publisher told IndustryGamers.

Fund Kinect game, score executive producer credit
Robomodo, a Chicago developer behind Tony Hawk: Shred and Ride as well as contributions to Mortal Kombat, Fight Night and WWE, wants your dollars for its latest project. It’s running a Kickstarter to fund Bodoink, a Kinect-powered pinball game that causes your Xbox Avatar much anguish and motion sickness. Rewards available include appearances in the game’s credits, or having achievements named after you.
Check out the project pitch through the break; Robomodo president Josh Tsui claims the game will be the first Kickstarter-funded console title.

Vita won’t support Game Archives at Japanese launch
According to Andriasang‘s translation of a new Sony Vita FAQ, the company has confirmed the new portable won’t support Game Archives at Japanese launch. Game Archives is the Japanese term for PSOne and Turbo GrafX PlayStation Network releases. It’s not clear whether this will apply to the Western launch, and Sony promises an update about “future support”.

Report – More details of Apple’s rumoured iTV
The Guardian has added its voice to reports that Apple is preparing to launch a Siri-powered “iTV”. The new report implicates Sharp in the devices production, boasts of “seamless links to cloud services”, and names Jeff Robbins, the developer of iTunes, as project lead.

BlazBlue Revolution tourney has Japanese and US players face off
Aksys Games has announced BlazBlue Revolution, the largest 3v3 tournament for the Arc System Works fighter series to date. The finals will be held in Japan in March 2012, and Aksys will supply airfares and accommodation to the winning trio of the US arm – plus a special bonus if by some twist of fate, they beat their Japanese rivals. Haaaa. US qualifiers will play out in Southern California, and more details will be available through the event’s website on December 17.
BlazBlue is a series of closely-interlinked fighters with an emphasis on technical combos, much like spiritual precursor Guilty Gear. It boasts two core entries, one spin off, plus portable versions and revisions.

Persona art books inbound, Udon holiday sale
Gaming comic and art book publisher Udon has announced two new coffee table titles for Persona 3 and Persona 4, both available for pre-order through the links, and expected sometime after the holidays. Siliconera reports the books feature character designs, rough sketches, backgrounds and interviews with Atlus staff.
Meanwhile, Udon is throwing a sale, offering $40 off both Mega Man Tribute and Street Fighter II Ultimate Edition hardcovers for a limited time only, along with loads more Cyber Monday sales.
