Dungeon Defenders 7.06 update adds features, tweaks balance

Ubisoft: Rocksmith’s frosty reception blamed on “lack of enthusiasm for something that is new”
Ubisoft’s North American executive director Laurent Detoc feels the reason Rocksmith was met with a less-than enthusiastic response from the gaming community along with tepid review scores is because “as much as [gamers] claim they want innovation, they don’t.”

Space Marine co-op DLC hitting Xbox 360 tomorrow
THQ has announced its free co-op DLC for Space Marine, Exterminatus, will be released on Xbox 360 tomorrow around 9am PST (noon EST, 4pm BST). Released for PC and PS3 last week, the DLC adds four-player co-op and along with the choice of three different marines: Assault, Devastator, and Tactical, each with its own weapons and perks. Tales of Innocence R trailer big on spells and storytelling
A new trailer for Namco Bandai’s Vita RPG, Tales of Innocence R sets the scene with over a minute of anime before the in-game action kicks in from around 1:17. The remainder of the trailer is all about spells, combat and beating-up multicoloured enemies.
Tales of Innocence R launches in Japan for Vita on January 26 2012. No other dates have been announced, though Namco Bandai did recently state its intention to release more of its Tales titles in the US, so watch this space.

Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City beta due early 2012
A beta for multiplayer squad-shooter Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City is expected “early next year”, according to producer Mike Jones.
Joystiq reports the beta was outed at Capcom’s Gamers Day 2011 last week.
Operation Raccoon City is expected on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the first half of 2012. See the latest trailer here.

Lord of Apocalypse trailer introduces characters
Here’s a Japanese -language trailer for Lord of Apocalypse, a Vita launch title from Deadly Premonition developer Access Games and sequel to Lord of Arcana. Be introduced to a number of typically hairstyled JRPG characters and baffled by their incomprehensible descriptions. No Western release has been announced, but the clamour for Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro may bring it to our fetéd shores.
