Quick quotes: “Games can be somewhat more artistic than movies,” says Naughty Dog

uc3ndrake

“Maybe I’m attached to this, but I do think games can actually be somewhat more artistic than movies. I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for what developers are able to pull off on such a limited amount of processing power, time, and… everything. To me, art is being able to take one set of things and make it into something completely different… something otherworldly and unpredictable.” – Naughty Dog’s lead effects designer Keith Guerrette, speaking to GoN, on the games being art matter. The studio’s latest game, Uncharted 3, is out now.

Ray Liotta not in GTA V trailer, says reps

gta v 3

Reckon Ray Liotta was in yesterday’s GTA V unveil trailer? You reckon wrong: reps for the Goodfellas actor, who voiced Tommy Vercetti in GTA: Vice City, confirmed to IGN he wasn’t in the clip. It was thought by some fans they might have heard his voice, indicating a return for Vercetti might be on the cards. Alas, unless its been recast, he ain’t coming back.

The first video for the Rockstar North game didn’t show a date or platforms.

The Trademark is, of course, highly suggestive of a sequel to the first person horror RPG Dead Island, but TechLand has refused to comment.

Unlock Michael Bay’s NFS: The Run trailer by liking the game’s Facebook page

needstobebigger

Starting today, folks can unlock a Need for Speed: The Run trailer by “liking” the game’s Facebook page. It was created by Michael “everything is better with explosions” Bay, who apparently, “player the game and spoke with the creative production team to get a feel for the franchise.” The page needs 250,000 “points” in order for the trailer to unlock, and as of this post, there’s 63,976. The game is out later this month. Thanks, Blue.
