Mega Man X appears as DLC character skin in UMvC 3

The Internet got very excited about an image from the official Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 guide which seemed to show Mega Man X would be coming to the game as DLC, but Joystiq has word it’s just a skin for the existing Mega Man character. Aww.

The updated fighter arrives this week on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Vita version to follow. See the latest trailer here.

Infinity Blade II to deal with aftermath of God King’s defeat

Gamespot has a developer diary for Chair’s upcoming Infinity Blade II, which gives some details on the game’s hero, Cyrus, and his quest to find someone called the Worker now that the world lacks a supreme ruler. There are snippets of in-game footage to be seen, plus some teasing references to the overall story of the world.

Infinity Blade II releases on December 1. The original game set records as the fastest-grossing release on the App Store and set a standard for Unreal Engine on iOS.

Most are of the single-player portion of the game, but there’s one multiplayer screen tossed in there for good measure. Revelations launches in the US and in the UK tomorrow.

Dead Island Bloodbath Arena arriving on November 22

Deep Silver’s announced it’ll release the Bloodbath Arena DLC for Dead Island on November 22. Previously due in late September, the pack comes with single-player and multiplayer “Horde-style challenges in four different arenas,” with XP carried over from the DLC into the campaign. The new content will come with a new weapon to boot, the Brain Wave Bomb.

It’ll arrive on PS3, 360 and PC.

The full game’s out Friday on PC, with a 360 release coming next year.
