Quick Quotes – Zelda doesn’t fit genre conventions
“Zelda doesn’t fit into any gaming genre perfectly. Of course there are certain techniques and certain basics that are similar throughout the series, but really what we are striving to do with each new Zelda is offer a new world for people to enjoy and to experience. Over 25 years, while we’ve been working on the Zelda series and creating the games, we’ve always had a wealth of ideas, which I think is what has kept us going all these years.”
– The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma tells MCV about Link’s timeless appeal. Skyward Sword releases for Wii this week.
Thanks, GoNintendo.

Skyrim map mod takes a cue from Google Street View
Skyrim hasn’t been out an entire week, and already the mod community is working day and night to create various patches, enhancements, and textures for the PC version. One of the neatest we’ve seen, and there are quite a few cools ones out there, is the map mod which shows you how to tweak the map in full 3D in order to zoom clear to the ground. PC Gamer said the result is a bit like a free camera mode that allows the player to “roam anywhere in the world” a bit like Google Street View. You can check it out through Skyrim Nexus, the video below, and look over a list of some other mods for the game here.
