Netflix Just For Kids available on Wii
Shack News reports Nintendo of America and Netflix have partnered to bring the streaming movie service’s family-friendly offering to the Wii. Aimed at 12 year olds and under, the service offers a catalogue of film browsable by genre or even favourite character.
Netflix Just For Kids will turn up on other consoles “over the next year”.

Cryptic’s parent company reports increase in profit and revenues for the quarter
Cryptic’s parent company, Chinese online game developer Perfect World, has reported a rise in profits for the quarter of 587.7 million CNY ($92.1 million), which is up from 486.9 million CNY the prior year. The firm also reported an increase in revenues of 708.9 million CNY ($112 million), up from 579.2 million CNY yoy. All figures were in line with company guidance, reports Gamasutra. “While focusing on further enhancing the content of our portfolio is necessary for our healthy long-term growth, this decision did slow our revenues for the third quarter on a sequential basis. But our third quarter results still represent solid year-over-year revenue growth of 22.4%,” said according to chairman and CEO Michael Chi.

Game writers workshop to feature Naomi Alderman,David Varela, and Rhianna Pratchett
Those interested in a five-day course on interactive game narrative may wish to attend a workshop being held January 30 through February 4 at Hepstonstall in West Yorkshire. Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD releasing in spring 2012 on PSN and XBLA
After months of rumors, Ubisoft has announced Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc will be receiving an HD upgrade for release on PSN and XBLA. According to the official announcement: “In Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc HD, fans and newcomers alike can now enjoy this piece of video game history with stunning new HD graphics. Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc HD provides 15–20 hours of gameplay and a wealth of extra content to unlock, including nine fun stand-alone mini-games, achievements and worldwide online leaderboards. In addition, the game has been updated to run at 60 frames per second and offers improved audio quality.” Ubisoft has it down for a spring 2012 release, with a price to be determined. PSA: Corpse Party releases on US PSN today
XSEED has posted a reminder on the US PS Blog, that the horror-adventure Corpse Party is available for download on PSP. The game will run you $19.99, and tasks you with rescuing your friends from a “dangerously haunted” school building. Hopefully, you can not only prevent your friends’ deaths, but find a way out before it’s too late. Originally slated for a Halloween release, a delay for the game was announced earlier this month.

Max Payne 3 pre-orders at GameStop net early access to the Cemetery Multiplayer Map
Rockstar has announced that customers who pre-order Max Payne 3 at any US GameStop location or online, will get early access to the Cemetery Multiplayer Map. Customers will gain access to the map at the game’s launch, weeks before it will be made available for download to the public. The cemetery in the map is where Max’s wife and daughter are buried, representing the “tragic past” Max can’t seem to forget. The map is described as having a “snowy New York City skyline”, with sniping positions available among the monuments. The tombstones are destructible, and circular fighting arenas in a rotunda garden and a looming mausoleum are available as well. Max Payne 3 will be released in March, and if you’ve got the money, you can also pre-order the Special Edition which was announced yesterday,
