Rumour: Final Fantasy Type-0 Ultimania confirms western version

Siliconera's reporting that "snippets" from Square Enix book Final Fantasy Type-0 Ultimania have "leaked onto the internet," including an apparent confirmation that the publisher is working on a western release of FF Type-0.

The news apparently comes from an interview in the book, which releases tomorrow. Siliconera says only that Square is working on an "international release," with no specifics given.

If true, this will delight western Final Fantasy fans. Final Fantasy Type-0 was released for PSP on October 27 in Japan; Square's left western adherents flabbergasted at its refusal to name a date for the US and Europe.

The new FF strand, of which Type-0 was the first instalment, does appear to be an ongoing concern for Square. It was reported yesterday that director Hajime Tabata is likely to work on a sequel before being allowed onto other projects, such as a 3rd Birthday follow-up.

Square has already registered domains for Type-1, Type-2 and Type-3.
