Original Silent Hill 2 voicework available in HD Collection

Put down your pitchfork, fanboy. Konami understands how the newly-recorded voice acting in the Silent Hill HD Collection offends your very being, and have included an option to switch it off. Unfortunately, “technical and logistical” constraints mean Silent Hill 3 only supports the new voices.

The Silent Hill HD Collection, which collects the second and third games, is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January.

They can’t locate majority of the Voice actors to sign a new waiver. So its not going to happen.

@Phoenix: is that what it is… interesting. I welcome a new voice cast for SH3 anyway, most of the original do my head in.

The whole thing is really REALLY stupid. What’s next? New voice-over for MGS1? At least SH2 is free of Konami’s stupidity for now.

I might pick this up once it hits the bargain bins now, if only for SH2. Do we know if it includes the extra chapter from the Xbox version/PS2 budget version?

@6 Yup, it’s the Restless Dreams/Greatest Hits one. It’s wonderful that they came back into their minds, the new voice acting is really awful. Hope it improves and SH3 finds a way to have its original voice acting too… if not, let’s hope this singer woman directs the actors as she should and not as she did with the SH2 HD preview.
