"Cloud specific things" on its way to Xbox, says MS exec

The cloud is on its way to Xbox, according to Microsoft exec Brian Prince.

"You will be seeing things in the Xbox platform that's cloud-specific," said Prince, speaking at GDC China, as caught by Gamasutra.

"I'm already doing it, it's really exciting, but I can't tell you about it or else I'll get fired."

Microsoft's already promised cloud-based saves as part of the next Dashboard update, but Prince comments sound like it'l be going a lot further than that.

He also touched upon currently-existing cloud gaming platforms, OnLive and Gaikai.

"These are really gaming platforms as a service. There are some limitations here, but I really do think this is the distant future of gaming in the cloud."
