NBA 2K11 multiplayer support extended to April 2012

2K has changed its mind about the planned termination of NBA 2K11's multiplayer servers this month.

Kotaku reports the severs, which were expected to drop this month after just over one year of operation, will be in action until April 2012.

2K's list of supported multiplayer titles suggests the publisher has adopted a policy of closing down support for titles replaced by a new yearly iteration.

NBA 2K11's continued support may be a result of the persistant online connectivity issues which have reportedly plagued the game's successor, NBA 2K12.

NBA 2K12 launched in October, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
