2007 called. They want their visuals back.
Nobody at IW listened it seemed.

At least they are honest. Unlike the last Assassin’s Creed Revelations Screenshots.

Wait a second.
“DAS ARKADEN” in the first screenshot?
What the fuck is “Das ARKADEN”? I’ve never heard about anything like that. At least ask some random german on the street before you do something like this.

Looks like someone fucked up those screenshots – or grabbed them off an N64
@5 Also says “Abfall Nur” on the garbage bin. I only have my school german to fall back on, but I’m pretty sure they should switch the two.
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN!

Yeah, It should have been “Die Arkaden”
Still stupid, bur at least grammatically correct.
Also “Abfall Nur” should be *Nur Abfall”.

The thing about the graphics in Modern Warfare 3 isn’t that they look bad by modern standards. They look bad simply by the standards set by Modern Warfare 1 and 2.
If nothing else, Infinity Ward certainly had a strong knack for creating atmosphere and immersion through their visual design and sound design… something which Sledgehammer appears to completely lack. It all looks so plastic and fake.

Bro, maybe you’d live a more happy and fulfilling life if you didn’t complain in every MW3 article?
Just saying all that negativity can’t be good for you, y’know?

Yeah bro! I hate different opinions too!

@12 You do realise that I just complimented previous titles in the series, right?
It’s called “critical thinking”, “bro”. It’s a process whereby people making informed decisions by looking at both the negative and positive aspects of something before coming to a conclusion. Read up on it, you might learn something.
Any allusions to “unhappiness” you want to make about me are entirely your own fictional invention.
@13 OH SHIT! COMMON SENSE! RUUUUN!!!
No, really, thank. =P

@13
Having a different opinion is one thing. Commenting on every fucking article related to a game, when everything you say is negative, is more like an obsession.
If you don’t like it, why don’t you just avoid it?
@14
Just saying bro, if every time you see an MW3 article, you feel the urge to complain and bitch about it, that can’t be very good for your mental wellbeing, y’know?
Maybe if you just thought “I don’t like MW3, but hey, if some people enjoy it, then that’s ok by me” and moved on without reading the article, you might have a nicer day (and other people might have nicer days too!).
Just sayin’.

@15 Or, conversely, if you don’t like it – don’t fucking read it?
Hmmm?

Those pics aren’t great. But do they actualy reflect the way the game moves and plays? I mean sometimes pics don’t do a game any services. But I have a hard time thinking the game will look anything like those pics when its being played. I mean they are pretty ugly. Is it the cpature method or something?
Or is it that IW isn’t what it used to be? And that would be understandable considering when has happend with them.

@15 “If you don’t like it, why don’t you just avoid it?”
In the “real world”, do you only talk to people about things you like? In the “real world”, do you never discuss subjects with your family or friends that you may disagree on or have negative opinions about?
The logic of “If you don’t like it, why don’t you just avoid it?” could also be applied to you reading my comments, right? You could just ignore them, right? Wouldn’t want to contradict your own reasoning, right?
@17 Infinity Ward didn’t do this. Sledgehammer did.

Of course, the best discussions in the real world are when you have two opposing opinions.
PROTIP: Commenting on the internet is nowhere similar to having a discussion in real life. On the internet you (third person) are right and everyone else is wrong. Not so in real life.
I could ignore them, and I do for the most part, but as anyone, I have a threshold where they get to me enough that I’ve to tell people to just STFU and BE HAPPY.

Oh the tosh some people spout. MW3 is easily as good looking as MW2, which still Is one of the best looking multiplayer titles this gen.
Moaning about the engine being the same? I’m sorry, you must be playing it on the ps4/xbox720?

@19 “On the internet you (third person) are right and everyone else is wrong.” Only if you want to view it that way.
I’m just some guy with an opinion. IF you don’t like it, that’s entirely your choice. You’re free to engage my opinions in a mature and courteous manner, or you can throw your toys out of the crib and whine because someone doesn’t have the same opinion as you.
It’s entirely up the person respond.
Sad thing is, I was actually trying to make a relevant point about the quality of graphics deteriorating because of the loss of Infinity Ward as a proper developer for the series, and how the previous games were much more solid because of their input…. a positive remark on the series quality in the past.
You simply choose to ignore the discussion trying to be generated and selectively picked out parts of my opinions to bitch about.
“that I’ve to tell people to just STFU and BE HAPPY.”
I’m perfectly happy. Negative opinions do not imply a lack of happiness, good sir.

@21 Great – it’s easily as good looking as a game that was released two years ago. Thumbs up. Should we be thankful then that the game doesn’t look any worse?

By all accounts, Michael, the people who left were management-level. Infinity Ward still has all the expertise left in having the same coders working on the same engine. What you’re suggesting makes no sense.
Sledgehammer were brought in to fill in the leadership.
Obviously those screenshots are either taken from a console, in which case I feel sorry for console players, but it quite obviously would look a lot better if someone bothered to turn on just the AA.
And if they don’t even have AA on, then how many other effects are they missing?

@24 Either way, the graphical craftmanship of the previous two Modern Warfare games simply isn’t apparent to me in anything I’ve seen so far.
Everything from the sound effects to the textures to the environment effects look worse in this game. Less refined. Shoddy in some places, even. Not as bad as Black Ops, but close.

@25 Fair enough. It looks roughly the same to me as MW2 based on the previews, but I wouldn’t know.

Yes moxifool, be grateful. MW2 is still one of the best looking multiplayer titles out on this gen of consoles. MW3 Is its equal, what it lacks in this mystical graphical evolution that every other game has gone through (apparently), it makes up for in gameplay refinement.
Plus static shots never really do many games justice.
