Special UK midnight launch events for Skyrim detailed

Bethesda’s unveiled plans for special midnight launch events for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to be held at GAME London on Oxford Street and gamestation Birmingham on New Street.

If you’re among the first 250 people to join the queue at each store, you’ll receive a special Skyrim goody bag, while being among the first 100 people will also net you a Skyrim strategy guide and Skyrim music CD.

That’s not all, if you go there dressed up in Skyrim cosplay, you will have a chance to win five special prizes. The best Cosplay winner will receive an Xbox 360, free upgrade to the CE, T-shirts, strategy guide, music CD and goody bag. The first four runners up will also receive a free upgrade to the Skyrim Collector’s Edition, and everything else the winner does sans the Xbox 360.

If these weren’t incentive enough, folks visiting GAME London will also get a chance to get snapped with a real-life Elder Scrolls.

The RPG everyone is pumped to oblivion for launches on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 worldwide this Friday.

im suprised there’s so much hype surrounding this game, i don’t really fancy it and i never liked Oblivion because of how broken it was.

Is there really a lot of hype surrounding this game that i’m simply missing completely?

Aseddon130, have you seen this game?
Have u heard of any of the features in this game?
If you have at least seen the footage with the dragon, you should be excited, unless you’re on o’ those cod fanboys, which I doubt because u mentioned “Oblivion”.

Isn’t “Oblivion” the Killstreak reward for getting 26 kills???

@1 Bethesda had a real Elder Scroll made, a promotional thing in the lead up to E3 if I recall correctly. http://www.flickr.com/photos/47857688@N08/5809485481/in/set-72157626910819606

@3
I’m not excited about Skyrim. I’m going to play it sure, but it is one of those games that is like “when i feel like it/have the time”.
I haven’t played any CoD games since the 4th, and i primarily play StarCraft 2. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@7 Same when it comes to Skyrim. But I’m most likely to play it “When it’s 15 euro on sale”.

all hail the inevitable GOTY compilation. I’ll wait for that, if anything. Besides of saving the money, it gives a chance to see what the game’s about, and what sort of support it will have from Bethesda.

@aseddon130 – “i don’t really fancy it and i never liked Oblivion”
And that is the reason why you don’t understand the hype….

There are quite a few Elder Scrolls fans, and rabid Morrowind and Oblivion
fans too. Any bethesda developed game is a big deal, but an elder scrolls game is something that only happens every 5 years or so, and is truly an event in gaming.
