Minecraft hits 4 million units sold

Minecraft has now sold 4 million units, according to the game’s official website this morning. The event was marked by a tweet from creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, who merely tweeted: “4milyay.”

Well done, Mojang massive. The full thing, two years after it initially went live in a basically bare state, releases next Friday.

I must admit that I still haven’t bought Minecraft, but play it pirated, but once it is officialy released I will buy it. Just to wash away the guilt of pirating it and support Mojang fully.

Why wait? The price will only go up once it’s out of beta.

Also, MineCon was delayed by a week (they couldn’t find anyplace to host it on 11/11/11), so the release has, as well.
