Funcom clarifies remarks regarding open beta for The Secret World

Funcom's issued a statement regarding remarks made by Funcom Canada CEO Miguel Caron pertaining to The Secret World's open beta and business model.

According to the firm, the game's open beta "will not be initiated before Christmas", but will be a part of the firm's strategy next year leading up to the game's April 2012 launch.

The firm said it is still discussing the game's business model and evaluating various price points internally, and an official announcement will be released when all is finalized.

Currently in closed beta for the last several months, TSW is being tested by both Funcom quality assurance personnel and external testers selected from a pool of over 500,000 registrants.

You can still toss your name in the hat for the beta through here.
