THQ boss shrugs off GTA V worries
THQ boss Brian Farrell has shaken off any worries between Grand Theft Auto V and Saints Row, saying the two are in a “completely different positioning.”

Farrell’s comments came hours after Rockstar debuted the fifth installment on the mega franchise, an event that even caught up on THQ’s CEO.
“I went online like everyone to see the GTA trailer,” he said regarding a question on if GTA V will affect pre-orders for Saints Row: The Third in THQ’s Q2 financial conference call last night.
“As you point out, it’s a high quality trailer and I think it’s going to be another fantastic game in the GTA series.”
Farrell went on to add the trailer also showed “the completely different positioning of the two games.”
“GTA is still serious and character driven – a very different experience. Saints Row – if you saw our video today [this be the one - JC] – it shows you all the crazy stuff in the game.
“It’s a totally different positioning, and if you read the forums it’s like ‘hey, I love GTA, and I love this game because it’s a very different game that knows what it is and is very entertaining.’”
Farrell said in the call that pre-orders for SR: The Third are four times higher than they were for Saints Row 2.
Saints Row: The Third launches in Europe on November 18 for PS3, 360 and PC. Grand Theft Auto V, despite its grand debut yesterday, is still without platforms, let alone a date.

They didn’t shrug off the worries when they delayed SR2 because of GTA IV LMFAO!
The only reason they ain’t shrugging now is because we all know GTA V won’t be out in a month or two haha

Both games are going down two totally different paths. I hope GTAV is better than IV, that one really did absolutely nothing for me. I found it boring, unattractive and quite dull.
I put SR in the same category as Just Cause, both mindless crazy fun games.

GTA 4 is the 1st GTA that I liked. One of the best game of this generation imo. I also liked Vice City, but more for the era than gameplay. I prefer my GTA to be “realistic”. But I too hated the friends and girlfriends dating.

Yeah Saints Row has gone off the deep end so no need to worry the franchise will probably be discontinued in a few months
