SEGA: Sonic Generations was a way for everyone to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary

With Sonic Generations' release, the Guardian traveled to Japan to speak with the game's director, producer and sound director regarding all the hard work which went into the game. According to the development team, rather than just create any Sonic game for the blue fella's 20th Anniversary, it wanted something which would instead be a present to those who have loved the series over the past two decades. In order to do this, it had to compress a score of history into one game, so everyone could come together and celebrate. It's a very interesting video, and it's posted below. Sonic Generations is out now on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and on November 22 and 25 for 3DS in the US and Europe, respectively.
