Frozen Synapse iOS will support cross-platform play

Turn-based indie darling Frozen Synapse is going mobile.

Although Mode 7 has "a lot of work to do on the interface as well as some additional tweaks", it has announced an iPad release for Frozen Synapse in the first half of 2012, GameSetWatch reports.

The mobile release will support cross-platform multiplayer with the PC version as a minimum, and it seems reasonable to expect the OS-X version will get a look in, too. As the turn-based game sometimes takes on a chess-by-mail pace, you'll be able to check in on your match on the run.

"I don’t want people to worry that we’re going to abandon FS on its current platforms – we’re actually working right now to hire another team member so we can give it more attention and update it more efficiently," Mode 7's Paul Taylor said.

Frozen Synapse is a tactical battle game available now on Steam.
