Extra Minecraft pre-1.9 update goodies released

BAFTA adds four new games category awards for 2012
BAFTA has added new categories to its game awards: Debut Game, Online – Browser, Online – Multiplayer and Performer. The Debut award will be handed to a studio releasing its first game during the same year the award is given, and the performance award will be handed to either voice or motion work. The Online browser award is self explanatory, and Online multiplayer can apply to any game which has online multiplayer capabilities. The BAFTAs take place on Friday, March 16, and nominations open on February 16. Thanks, GI.biz.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron announced via November Game Informer
Activision has announced Transformers: Fall of Cybertron via the next Game Informer cover. According to the magazine, which will sport two different covers, Grimlock will be playable character and morph into his famed Dinobot form. The other cover shows Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. More on the game is revealed in the November issue, which is expected to land in mail boxes October 11. The game is out in 2012.

El Presidente returning to Xbox 360 in Tropico 4
Kalypso has announced a release date for Tropico 4 on Xbox 360. The game, which was released on PC over the summer, contains 20 new missions across 10 new maps and new game features such as the ability to elect ministers into power to help get your more controversial decisions passed. It’s out on October 18.

Closed beta for Blacklight: Retribution starts November 10
Perfect World has announced the closed beta for Blacklight: Retribution will begin on November 10, with a select players invited for day one. More players will be invited as the weeks progress.The game, in development at Zombie Studios, will be free-to-play upon release and will be monetized using microtransactions entirely, instead of offering a subscription service. FIFA 12 getting console patch within next 2-3 weeks
EA’s confirmed details of a console patch for FIFA 12, mentioning it will have “big corrections” within the game. An update before that will help fix add-on FIFA Ultimate Team, which users have been complaining of being unable to access since launch last week. An update will also be released that will fix issues with the PC version, such as unneeded large downloads and disconnects on Origin, with exploits for Be a Pro goalkeeper also to be fixed as well.
