PSA: Origin update required for Battlefield 3
Battlefield 3 PC version requires the most up-to-date version of EA’s digital distribution and management suite, Origin. If you’re wanting to have a crack at the shooter ASAP, you’ll want to update your client in advance.
Battlefield 3 unlocks at midnight for US residents, while Europeans and Australians have a few days left to wait.

New PSP bundle includes FIFA 2012 and Cars 2
In time for the release of the portable version of Cars 2, Sony has announced a new hardware bundle.
As detailed on the US PS Blog, the $159.99 bundle contains a a black PSP-3000, a 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, a copy of FIFA 2012 on UMD and a voucher to download Cars 2: The Video Game from the PlayStation Network.
The bundle will go on sale on November 15. The Avalanche-developed Cars 2 goes on sale a week earlier on November 8; it’s also available on DS, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

First Super Mario 3D Land review pulls an eight from EDGE
EDGE has gone live with the first review of Super Mario 3D Land, the first core Mario title for the 3DS, awarding it eight out of ten.
The notoriously critical mag praised the game’s use of “some of the best, most subtle use of 3D” the console has seen so far, and called it “fresher than any handheld Mario in years”. It was less impressed with the grab-bag power up gameplay.
Super Mario 3D Land launches in November, exclusively for 3DS.

Battlefield 3 comparison vid shows 360 version with and without high-res texture pack
WikiGameGuides has uploaded a rather solid comparison of Battlefield 3′s Xbox 360 version, with and without the HD texture pack installed. The comparison gives you a proper idea about how much of a difference installing the texture pack results in. To be honest, it’s quite noticeable. The texture pack weighs in at 1.5 GB and will ship on Battlefield 3′s second disc. The game releases later this week for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. You can watch the video below.
