Rumor – New Xbox Live dashboard to launch next week
According to a rumor posted over on tech site Win Rumors, Microsoft’s new Xbox Live dashboard update is set to launch next week. The site said it had a look at the update yesterday at the Nokia World event, and has posted a video of its hands-on with the update’s Windows Phone integration and Kinect features. It has been reported previously, that WP7 users can use the phone as a remote control with the dashboard via an app created for the service. A leaked PayPal memo posted back in September, while the dashboard’s beta was ongoing, pegged the new interface for a November 15 release. We’ll send a mail. Thanks, OXM.

It’s very unlikely the actual dashboard itself will launch next week.
The preview, maybe, but not the public release. The preview hasn’t even started yet.

Quite. It’s got to be the preview launch otherwise what was the point in signing all those people up to be guinea pigs?

I refused to be a guinea pig, and ignored my invite for the beta. I have had too many 360s bork on me so my paranoia is well within reason.

What… Why change it again? The current UI for both the phones and xbox are fine, they do everything you would want, look good and feel good. Why change them. Again.

#4 – They’re working towards a unified UI for Windows Phone, Windows 8 and the Xbox Dashboard.
