Anno 2070 offers “fascinating global scenarios”

Wednesday, 26th October 2011 03:41 GMT By Brenna Hillier

A new trailer for Anno 2070 shows off the delightfully pretty new entry in the long-running city-building strategy series, teasing a number of features.

The game’s multiplayer, which supports up to eight players in co-op and versus modes, is briefly touched on, and then the various options available in online matches. It doesn’t actually say at any point what these things actually are, though, just that they’re “fascinating”. Good-oh.

Anno 2070 is the first of the series to visit a future time period, and allows players to maintain persistence, upgradable identities which carry over to the next multiplayer match. It’s due on PC on November 17 in Europe, with US dating still to be confirmed. A mac port is due in early 2012.

Thanks, Gamespot.

I havent played any of the series but this one has caught my eye and is on my radar. I hope Ubi do the right thing and put it on Steam and use their DRM as it clearly works (since pirates cant crack FM2012).

My router went bang which was a bugger so I couldnt actually play/register my FM2012 which is a pain but if it prevents pirates and doesnt intrude like Ubis DRM always appears to do, then its a win/win.

I hope this plays as good as it looks and blue byte do have an excellent track record.

I’m defo gonna pick this one up, maybe not day one but probably early December. I would get FM2012 now but seriously, £29.99 on Steam? I have missed a few years but it’s not always been that expensive has it? For what it is that game can certainly wait for a price drop.

I really enjoyed Anno 1701. I had never played it before and randomly thought I would try it out. I’m not even sure where or why I bought it in the first place but I easily lost hour after hour once everything gets rolling.
