Minecraft console port to debut at MineCon, is an Xbox 360 exclusive

Fans will be able to get their hands on the Xbox 360-exclusive console version of indie smash hit Minecraft at MineCon next month.

"We are thrilled to announce that MineCon attendees will have the opportunity to play Minecraft on Xbox 360 months before the public release," the developer revealed in a post on the Mojang blog.

Microsoft is set to be a major sponsor of MineCon 2011, which takes place in Las Vegas on November 18 and 19. The strength of the relationship between the independent developer and platform holder has resulted in Microsoft winning an Xbox 360 exclusive for the upcoming console port.

"Minecraft on consoles is Xbox 360 exclusive!" Notch confirmed.

A teaser for the Xbox 360 version follows.

Minecraft is also available in its original form on PC, and for Android smartphones, following the expiration of an Xperia Play exclusivity period.
