Quick quotes – Muzyka on The Old Republic’s choice and consequence

“People seem to find it hard to go back to other MMOs once they play The Old Republic; because there’s a real sense of purpose to everything. We have real choice for the game. But because there’s personal choice, there is always personal consequences – there’s no going back you know? You can’t simply load up a previous save game and see ‘what if’. That’s really exciting from a moral perspective, because it’s personally impactful. We’ve found a way to integrate group combat, with group exploration, group stories and explorations – yet, there’s still a great sense of a personal story. People couldn’t imagine how you could pull that off in the MMO space – and we did that.”

BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka telling The Gaming Liberty what makes Star Wars: The Old Republic different. The PC exclusive MMORPG is due in December.

Thanks, Massively.

Oh jesus. Is this all they can ‘talk’ about regarding SWTWoW? 2 months until release and telling people what an MMO is?! If there is a ‘real choice’ – tell us!!! Simply selecting a short sentence to provide an answer isnt a ‘real choice’ now is it?!

And I bet there will be some ‘going back’.

You’ve just killed 30 slugs in the Sith Temple and told to go back there and look for 20 slug claws…..
