Xbox 360 counter site teasing Korean Kinect event

Shortly after Western news sites picked up on a mysterious Xbox 360 counter, the enigma was solved when the domain was updated to redirect to a Korean Kinect event splash page.

Xbox Invitational 2011 appears to be a local Microsoft showcase event.

Thanks to all who noted the domain redirect.

Original Story:
A strange new countdown website with ten days remaining has appeared at Xbox3601029.com, sporting the typical Xbox 360 colour palette.

A peek at the source code doesn’t show much, and the domain is registered to a third party registrant masking company.

Recent rumours of upcoming Microsoft reveals include the eternal Xbox 720 development chestnut and talk of a platform agnostic streaming games service.

Thanks, Destructoid.

You don’t know that. It just might as well be something interesting now. Come on MS..make me want to look forward to something from you again. Please do not be Cunt-nect.

I doubt they would do this for a dash update we all know is coming. Same time…its not likely that its something huge neither. They save that for big events

The black behind the numbers isn’t the same as the black as the background. Looks very unprofessional. Don’t think it’s official, plus with that really shitty header with the weird symbols.

Either it’s fake or something to do with kinect, couldn’t give a shit either way.

That’s new! I’ve updated the article to reflect the domain redirection. Sorry to get your hopes up.

PS That’s Korean!
