Amazing Spider-Man game confirmed, open world

Spider-man has had a bit of a rough go of it over the past few years. The series has been marred by a number of sub-par releases, but fans are very excited for the Amazing Spider-man game revealed this weekend at NYCC. The first bit of juicy detail that's coming from the New York Comic Con is that this will in fact be a return to open worlds for Spidey. Much like the critically lauded Spider-man 2 game, this installment will see Peter Parker return to New York City and sling webs wherever he'd like.

However, the trailer reportedly shows Spider-man moving through the city with ease, leaping off buildings and swinging across bridges etc. Fans are also pretty excited about the realistic look the game has adopted. Rather than the more cartoony visuals of the last couple games, Amazing Spider-man will feature a much more realistic NYC.

The announcement trailer is not yet available online, but we'll post it when it is. The only videos available online at the moment are shaky cam footage.
