Xbox Live dashboard preview accepting beta applicants

Wednesday, 12th October 2011 21:17 GMT By Andrew Groen

Hoping to get your hands on the new Xbox 360 dashboard update before all of the rest of us chumps? Now you can try your luck through the beta sign-up. Microsoft is selecting a limited pool of people to give the new dashboard a test run so they can work out all of the kinks pre-release.

If you’d like to be one of the lucky few you can sign up on their website. Major Nelson made the announcement today on his blog, saying it’s an open call to all Xbox 360 owners.

Once live, the update will allow users acces to Kinect voice and gesture controls, Facebook sharing, cloud storage for game saves and Xbox LIVE profiles.

One particularly nice feature to the beta test is that it will allow testers to stay in touch and still play with all of their old friends on the old dashboard.

@1 If you sign up, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get it, especially if you do it early.

I’ve never *not* gotten into one of these.
