Nintendo to release new Wii bundle in US

Nintendo’s announced details of a new Wii hardware bundle in the US. The bundle will featured a black Wii, black Wiimote, black Nunchuk, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and a soundtrack for Super Mario Galaxy. it’ll go on sale in the US on October 23 for $149.99.

You forgot to mention it has NO backwards compatibility with the Gamecube. When Sony removed PS2 BC everybody bitched about it, so let’s make sure we’re fair here, and point out that you can’t play Gamecube games nor can you use any GC controllers/memory cards on this one.

Exactly. So, when the Wii removes it, it probably is worse, since, at least, with the PS3, you’ve got a wider selection of PS3 games to play. For the Wii, having the ability to play Gamecube games is 50% of the reason to own the system (with the Virtual Console being 30% and, at least for North America, the other 20% being Wii games).
