The Last Story classified for Australian release
The Australian Classification Board has listed Mistwalker’s acclaimed Wii RPG The Last Story, despite the Big N playing coy on the subject of a local release.

The game’s assessment was finalised on Friday, resulting in an M rating for “fantasy violence and mature themes”.
Nintendo of Australia has not made the game’s release official, but the European arm listed a 2012 launch in August, suggesting the JRPG would make it to our shores thanks to the PAL territory umbrella.
The Last Story is know for its graphics, which push the Wii’s capabilities; it was directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, who created the Final Fantasy franchise while at Square Enix. It is part of a “Holy Trinity” of Wii JRPGs alongside Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora’s Tower, which have been the focus of much attention fan effort to ensure localisation.
Thanks, GoNintendo.

Wow. If Australia also gets this and America doesn’t, Reggie has got some explaining to do…

Australia usually gets Nintendo games released in Europe; they fall under the same territorial umbrella. Nintendo Australia is kind of like a subset of Nintendo Europe, whereas Nintendo of America is a distinct body.

Don’t know how this one fares but Xenoblade Chronicles is truly an exceptional RPG this generation.Actually the best coming from the East this generation on all platforms.I expect no less from Sakaguchi with this one

^ 4 This. Xenoblade isn’t just one of the best games this year, but one of the best RPGs of this generation.
KL, all words I’ve heard from people in the know point to The Last Story being a pretty exceptional RPG as well.
Want good JPRGs this generation? Get a Wii!

#4 #5, and to believe that maybe the best RPG game this generation came out on a “last generation console”, thats why i keep crossing my fingers for an US Releas for this three games(xenoblade, last story and pandoras tower), but i am not that optimistic, though T_T

Still it has breathtaking graphics.
I encourage everyone who is on this genre to play it,they’re definitely in for a BIG treat. Where other’s have missed “cough” Square… XIIi Takashi and Monolith have succeed and done it a thousand times better.
Michael i heard good things about The Last Story too.Sakaguchi always delivers

To rephrase what I said better…
*Proof if ever there was that high resolution textures, over-saturated bloom effects, and 12billion-x anti-aliasing do not a good game make.
@8 Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Square’s previous poster boys for quality RPGs are the now the ones out there making the best games in the genre? While Square releases and regurgitates shit title after shit title.
