Ofcom to investigate ITV-ArmA documentary mix-up

Media Regulator Ofcom is to investigate UK broadcaster ITV after it mistakenly aired footage of Bohemia Interactive's ArmA 2 as real-life footage of the IRA shooting down a helicopter with weapons provided by now-deposed Libyan leader Colonel Gadaffi. The footage was aired as part of the first episode of real-affairs show Exposure: Gadaffi and the IRA last month. ITV had said at the time it blamed "human error" for the gaffe, but apologised nonetheless. Ofcom's now kicked off its investigation to see if ITV was in breach of the body's broadcasting code.
