YouTube user jeffriseden was one of the lucky few who had the opportunity to try out Battlefield 3′s Caspian Border level in the closed PC beta yesterday, and was kind enough to video his experience and post it for the world to see. You can watch all 23 minutes of his time in the map below, where he takes a bit of time to not only show the battle bits, but the environment as well.

Access to the map was limited to say the least, so thanks to all who gave me the heads-up on this so everyone could have a look. The game’s now in open beta, and hits at the end of October.

Bethesda has released one final gameplay video for RAGE before it’s release, and it’s called: Jackal Canyon: Recover the Decrypter. In it, the Resistance has heard rumors of an Ark surfacing in Jackal Valley, and you are tasked with searching the site for a data decrypter, which is apparently very valuable. Finding it won’t be easy either as the Jackal Clan awaits those who dare to venture into their territory.

RAGE releases next week in on October 4 in the US and October 7 in Europe.

Warner and Snowblind have released a developer video for Lord of the Rings: War in the North, discussing the game’s co-op. The game is due on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in early November, although the UK date is yet to be locked down.

Ubisoft has sent over two new trailers for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, one showing off Ezio’s Hook Blade, and the other announcing the end of the beta, which concluded last weekend. The later is full of stats such as the amount of kills, and the like. Revelations is out November 15 in the US and November 18 in Europe on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Watch both videos below.

Ruffian’s hiring for a new art director. The blog post, which was first tweeted out this morning by studio chap Gary Liddon, says it’s looking for someone who will “take ownership of Ruffian’s visual output” over some of Ruffian’s still to be announced upcoming projects. You can find the specifics here.

The studio made last year’s Crackdown 2 for Xbox 360.

Sony’s confirmed that PlayStation Network is to go down for even more maintenance this evening. The network will be down fro, 5pm to 7pm, although maintenance will continue until 9pm tonight. PlayStation Store, Account Management and Account Registration will be unusable in that time, but if you sign in to PSN before 5pm, you’ll be able to continue playing on it.

This is the third time in four days PSN has gone down for maintenance.

GAME Group’s announced this morning that those who pre-order Modern Warfare 3 from either GAME or GameStation will get double XP in their first four hours of multiplayer game time. The bonus is the final one to be announced as part of the Classified Intel Pack that will come with pre-orders for the shooter. The pack will also come with a mini-guide and either a platform specific reward: avatar gear on 360 or a theme for PS3.
