Need for Speed: The Run gets December 1 release in Japan
Need for Speed: The Run’s now confirmed for a December 1 release in Japan on PS3, 360, Wii and 3DS. It was announced after the end of a, quite frankly, badly-controlled demo by EA Japan at a stage show for the game by Sega, who are publishing EA’s titles in the country. Pre-order details, such as bonus cars and challenge events, were also mentioned near the end.
The game releases here in Europe on November 18, with a US release three days earlier.

Pre-order BF3 from Origin, get Dead Space 2 free
EA’s offering a very temping incentive to pre-order Battlefield 3 from Origin for those who haven’t yet. If you decide to go with the EA service, you’ll get in return, as well as DLC and early access to the beta, a free download of Dead Space 2. But there’s a snag: there are only limited copies of DS2 left. This seems to be a US offer, by the looks of it. as there’s no similar deal on the UK storefront.
The DICE shooter launches at the end of October. Here’s its latest video. Thanks, Joystiq.

Quick Quotes: id’s Willits on lightening up with RAGE
“It was definitely a conscious decision for id to move away from that dark corridor setting. We didn’t want to follow the same formula. When you’re inside RAGE’s missions, they’re very classic id. But the technology allowed us to really move out of that and let our artists be artists.” – Tim Willits, creative director of RAGE to MCV.
