Deadly Premonition designer Hidetaka Suehiro directing Lord of Apocalypse

Square Enix’s Lord of Apocalypse, a successor to Lord of Arcana, is in development from Access Games with Deadly Premonition designer Hidetaka Suehiro signed on to direct, it has been announced. The game, announced just before TGS will be made available for PSP and Vita on December 17 in Japan. It has not been announced for release in North America or Europe. Capcom has confirmed to Kotaku Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a shoe-in for a late 2011 release, but instead “definitely locked in,” for a winter release. Winter, for the seasonally challenged, starts December 22, 2011 and ends on March 19, 2012 – meaning to expect it sometime before the Vernal Equinox, but not before the Winter Solstice.

PS3 firmware update 3.72 out, adds system stability

Sony has announced PS3 system software update, v3.72, us out. Calling it a “minor update,” the firm said it provides system stability during “use of PS3 format software and network services.” It will take around 10 minutes to download. The last update, firmware 3.70, streamlined the PS Plus subscriber-exclusive automatic download and cloud save features, among other things.
