Zynga report shows core gamers increasingly keen on social

Gaming social network Raptr has revealed some startling statistics on Zynga's catalogue of social games, including a growing number of core gamer joining the ranks.

Raptr noted that a third of its users with Xbox 360s also play Zynga games - an increase of 50 percent on the year before.

Players of Zynga's Ville series (Framville, Frontierville, etc) clock up as many hours playtime across all titles as players of core gaming series do.

Once they're hooked, they rarely go away, either, with 90 percent of players of one Zynga title playing the next release as well.

In the social scene, Zynga's best games have three times more playtime logged than all the other top ten games combined.

The statistics are drawn from Raptr's data collection on Empires & Allies, CityVille, Treasure Isle, FrontierVille, Café World, FarmVille, Texas Hold’em Poker, PetVille, YoVille, and Mafia Wars between 2007 and present day.

The full report - and some pretty charts - is available on the Raptr blog.
