Quick shots - House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Edition sports retro 3D

You don't need a fancy-pants 3D TV to see House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Edition's gore in three dimensions - just a pair of those old-school red-and-blue glasses.

The PlayStation 3 exclusive does in fact have an option for both active and passive stereoscopic 3D if you happen to have one of the afore-mentioned fancy-pants set ups, but it also supports both red-cyan and green-magenta anaglyphic 3D.

This ensures, apparently, that everyone will eb able to experience "hard core bullets and brain matter so real you’ll need a damp towel".

Sega actually sent some screenshots to prove this, which you can't really experience unless you have a pair of anaglyphic 3D glasses on hand. A pair of glasses will be handed out with every launch-day copy of the game in Europe while stocks last.

House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Edition releases at the end of October.
