Dead Island DLC might see a delay as focus is on bug fixes

Deep Silver has said Techland's priority at the moment is fixing issues in Dead Island, which mean the planned DLC packs for the game may see a delay.

Speaking with Kotaku, a Deep Silver representative told the site that fixes and updates are in the works "across all platforms so that we can take care of all of the fans who have been so supportive of our game."

"There is some awesome DLC content planned for Dead Island, but first we have to put all our focus on the base game experience."

A patch for the Xbox 360 versions was released earlier in the week and one is in the works for PS3 as well. The patch should fix multiplayer connectivity issues, autosave issues, and other minor issues.

Also last week, a new version of the PC version was released and it also received the same patch released on Xbox 360.

PS3 will receive the patch "as soon as possible," said Deep Silver.

Bloodbath Arena, the first of two downloadable content packs planned for release, was originally scheduled for a late-September release. Hopefully the fixes will be applied soon so the DLC won't see a delay.

Deep Silver announced today the game has shipped 1 million units in the US so far.
