Vita dated for December 17 in Japan

Sony's confirmed that it'll launch PlayStation Vita in Japan on December 17.

The news comes from the company's Tokyo Game Show press conference, which is currently ongoing.

Sony reiterated on stag that the WI-Fi SKU will cost ¥24,980, while the 3G version will be ¥29,980. NTT DoCoMo will be the 3G provider in Japan for the handheld, following a previous announcement of AT&T at E3 for the US.

For Japan, NTT DoCoMo will have two pre-paid options for the 3G version. You'll get either 20 hours for Y980 (£8.09, €9.36, $12.74) or 100 hours for Y4,980 (£41.10, €47.54, $64.73).
