Sony confirms 3-5 hours play-time for Vita battery

Sony's confirmed that the battery life for Vita will last for a maximum of nine hours, but will average at 3-5 hours when playing a game.

Its duration will be about 3-5 hours when playing a game or performing movie playback, but this figure has been given for play while the unit's not connected to the internet.

The handheld's charge will be at nine hours when its on music playback, as well as standby mode.

It'll take two hours and 40 minutes to fully charge the battery when its at its fully depleted stage.

Vita was confirmed for a December 17 launch in Japan this morning. It'll arrive in the US and Europe in early 2012.
