SWTOR companions to eventually receive same-sex romance options
Bioware has officially confirmed once and for all, that companion characters in SWTOR will indeed have the option to have same-sex romances, but not at launch.
According to an official post on the SWTOR forums, community manager Stephen Reid said the option would not be present at launch do to “design constraints.”
“Due to the design constraints of a fully voiced MMO of this scale and size, many choices had to be made as to the launch and post-launch feature set,” he said. “Same gender romances with companion characters in Star Wars: The Old Republic will be a post-launch feature.
“Because The Old Republic is an MMO, the game will live on through content expansions which allow us to include content and features that could not be included at launch, including the addition of more companion characters who will have additional romance options.”
Now, if other MMOs would take Bioware’s lead here and just allow even the marriage or relationship feature altogether other than adoption, it would be swell. Some MMOs do, some do not.

You know what. The fact that SWTWoW is ‘fully voiced’, its come at a price in terms of creativity in other *ehm* areas…
There’s alot of things that they say they cant do because of it being ‘fully voiced’ or it could be the fact that this entire game simply lacks anything outside the standard linear MMO experience…
And thats a fucking great picture LOL

Wait a minute… wasn’t this the game for which Bioware came out in the forums saying there’s no same sex relationships in the Star Wars universe? I seem to remember some sort of disaster along those lines.

Why are the news about star wars always something about sex, gays and other stuff like that? I didnt know something like that is important in a GAME.

great, so instead of discriminating against homosexuals they’re now going to have NPCs sexually harass heterosexuals? And it is harassment when you are forced to tolerate a same sex character flirt with your toon, and if you tell said character IE Zevran from DA:O or Anders and Fenris from DA:2 your punished by loosing “approval” points. Ty Bioware for discriminating against me, makes me wonder if I shouldn’t go back to GameStop and demand a refund.

@13 The reason is that SWG offered same sex marriages etc, my guild had a few(first lesbian one as well on our server – shame there was no achievements back then lol) – but I think those who are requesting this, are clearly expecting SWTWoW to be like SWG, which it clearly isnt going to be.
I know alot of married couples (gay and straight) who play games together, which is always good when you can share things apart from fluids….
