Report - Android Market reaches 6 billion app downloads

According to a recent report from research firm research2guidance, the Android Market has now hit 6 billion app downloads. Near the end of August, the service was carrying 277,252 apps, of which 35 percent you had to buy. While the most lucrative app categories are weather and business, the fastest growing category was games, which made up for nearly a quarter of all downloads.
