    1. 8800 are much much stronger then Radeon HD 4200
    2.9800GTX is still stronger then 5550.

    I didn’t think they were too meaty. The 9800 GTX is now 3 and a half years old.

    These are quite high, but let’s face it, they’re not going to be much when those for BF3 are revealed. Just an assumption, but it is a reasonable one, no?

    @1:
    It could be that the game was developed in conjunction with AMD/ATI, and it so is more tuned to their cards, and thus works better.
    And nowadays most games don’t have a difference in HDD requirements for min and rec, but in the earlier days of gaming I remember you got the choice between installing a game in full, or just parts of it, so things like cutscenes were able to run from the disc. If you installed the full game, you often wouldn’t need the disc in the drive, not even for security.

    Also nice to note is that most devs only state the HDD requirements with the minimum specs these days, because they’re the same anyway :)

    Mega-Textures are Carmacks favourite thing, needs lots of hard drive space but because of streaming you don’t actually need that much RAM

    These are not meaty. The graphics card requirements are now two/three generations old. Roll on next console cycle please.

    @5 Well that is still MMO. I think AvP was big like 15 gb for that kind of genre.

    25 GB!?!?!?And I thought The Witcher 2 and 16.3 GB was massive!!That Radeon HD 5550 is weak as shit and even my Radeon 6770 (which is a mid range card)is three times better so that can’t be wright.

    So how does the console version of this compare to the PC version?

    I assume the PC version isn’t as good as it could be graphically? Even still my PC is pretty crappy…so maybe the console version will be the way to go…

    “Id Software founder John Carmack has confirmed that Rage is designed to be played on console platforms”

    So that should also be the best version (Xbox and PS3)

    PS3 games are already up to 50gb and more sometimes.

    If the PC community is honest, hardly anyone has a high end PC and will be able to play Battlefield etc on the highest settings.

    I always look at steam surverys and there you clearly see it.
    Like 4-7% of people have high end systems.

    Hardly anyone is be able to play pc games like they look in the trailers etc

    @14 and @13

    Carmack has already confirmed that the PC will be the better version with higher textures, level editor, higher res, anti-alias, faster loading. The list goes on and on.

    The level editor itself is why I am getting Rage on PC.

    And ID said that game will run better on the 360 out of the consoles.
